5 on 1

Assembly. The name rings a boring bell Right? Wrong? Yes? No? No! In senior assembly it’s a full on competition. There’s usually twelve competitors representing their class and sometimes everybody gets to compete. An example of this is a game we play called Heads and Tails. We also have loads of quizzes like when my class, Room 14 did assembly we played a quiz game called Super Combo Tiggy.
We don’t only compete in assembly. We have a lot of fun laughing and singing along. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a senior assembly where I haven’t laughed because there is so much fun.
Room 9 performs something almost every week. They’re great performers that lot!
So boring does not ring the bell for these assemblies.
I just keep wondering what will come next!

Here is my evaluation on my story 5 on 1 for the 'Leavers' Gazette'

I think this was a very good story because the hook was very interesting and there is lots of facts to follow th statement.

This is my Gymnastics certificate.

I am very proud of this because it shows that I am getting better as I have been working on the things that we did every week.

Term 4 goals

My first goal is a school goal and It is to get better at handing things in on time. To achieve this goal I will start the thing that I need to at the very start of the week and work on that particular thing for the hole week so it is done in time. I will know I have achieved I am constantly handing things in on time like home learning etc.

My second goal is a personal goal and It is to practice my piano a lot more. I will practise everyday and maybe bring my piano books to school and practise in my lunch time. I know I will have achieved this goal when I fell good about my exam, when I score high and be able to play in front of the class.

My third goal is also a school goal and is to keep me work area tidy so I can learn better. To do this I will tidy my desk every week and put a reminder on it. I know I will have achieved this goal when I am working in a clean environment.

Tree Whisper

Tree Whisper

The trees are never still
They Brush against the houses crow
Swaying like a crowd listening to music
Dancing

The trees sing
And only the drips of the eyes hear
It’s the sound of the mountains staring

The trees are cold
One tree connects to another
And gives away the age
Some times I think it says my name as it coughs

I Love the crackle of the trees
The falling leaves
And know it will breathe
Inside the trunk

All are welcome
The trees sing out
Let all work with me
I am the old oak tree
And I whisper
How the blossoms bloom

Speech Feedback Term 3 - Why shopping should be an Olympic Sport

2.50 Great introduction which grabbed our attention, using a strong statement, eye contact and gesturing. It was really interesting and funny to hear how you built up examples of the differences between men and women. You used pausing effectively inbetween main points, giving the audience time to think, plus you time to move on to your next point. Your voice was clear, loud and varied.

Next Steps:
Relax a little so you enjoy yourself more, you are an excellent speaker.

My Term 2 Goals- dictionary

My goal is to use my dictionary more
To do this I will not ask people how to spell the word but I mite ask people the first three letters though.
I know I will have achived this when I am constedntle finding words in the dictionary.
I will achive this by the the end of term 2

My Term 2 Goals-spelling

My goal is to get better at my spelling
To do this I will check my writing book and any words I have got wrong I will write them in my home learning book and practise them at least 3 times a week.
I know I will achive this when I am getting most of the words in my writing book right.
I will have achived this by the end of the term.

I have not achieved this because I have been to busy so. Next time I would like to do this goal again. But I have been finding lots of words.

My Term 2 Goals

My goal is to get my maths worksheets done faster.
To do this I will move away from the people desracting me.
I will know I have achieved this when I am doing my worksheets fast and well.
I will have achieved this by the end of term 2.
I think I have achieved because I have compered my work sheets from last term to this trem and I have completed more.

1. Explain what you think a goal is.
(a) A goal is something you that you set out to achieve.

(b) Sometimes to achieve a goal, you have to split it up into smaller bits and take one step at a time.

(c) A goal is something that makes you work hard, to get better at something.

(d) I think a goal is something which pushes you harder to reach the next level.

2. Explain how you think goals help you.
I think goals help you because you are aiming to get better at something you couldn’t do, something that you wanted to do or needed to work on. When you achieve this goal you will not only be better than you were before but you will be learning what you needed to do to achieve this in the first place.

3. Describe what happens when goals don’t work.
(A)You can use this as an opportunity to learn from your mistakes.

(b)You might have planned every thing out but you might not have done any everything to achieve it.

(c)When a goal doesn’t work you might just need to go back and break that goal up into smaller bits and look at the part that went wrong and work out how to change it. You might need to do this several times.
